Bishop Joseph Imesch Visits Notre Dame Mission
Rt Reverend Joseph L. Imesch, the recently retired bishop of the Diocese of Joliet, Illinois, visited Sister Yengo and the Notre Dame Mission last Fall. Bishop Imesch had been a great friend and supporter of Sister Brigitte from the early 1980's when she came to suburban Chicago to study Chiropractic. While he was at the Mission, he was joined by the American ambassador in presenting sewing machines to disabled women from around the country. The women are trained at the Mission and then return to their villages with the skills and equipment to provide a better life for their families.
